6 Days – Lake Nakuru and Mt. Kenya Climb
Day 1: once in Nakuru, proceed for a game drive at lake Nakuru often described as the “WORLD’S GREATEST BIRD SPECTACLE”. Beside birds, it is possible to see small game like waterbucks, impalas, buffaloes and rhinos. Return to the budget hotel / lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Departure from Nakuru by public transport by our Mountain guide, via Thompson Falls, lunch en-route. Thereafter acclimatization walk to the Famous Mau Mau caves and the Burguret water fall will follow. Overnight and dinner at hiker camp (2309 m).
Day 3: After breakfast, hike via Naro-moru park gate to met station (3040 m) 14 km, 5-6 hrs walk. Lunch en-route. Vegetation or zone to pass the dry forest, wet forest to the Bamboo jungle. Animals to see; the Bongo, Columbus monkey, bush buck, elephants and duiker. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: After breakfast hike to Mackinders camp (4200 m) 13 km, 6-8 hours walk. Lunch en-route. Vegetation to pass; the bamboo jungle, the heather zone, the moorland to the alpine zone with beautiful scenarios, ground sills & lobelias etc. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 5: Attempt on Pt. Lenana at 0230 hrs. After the sunrise, it is possible to see Kilimanjaro to the south, the Indian ocean and Isiolo mountains to the north.
After taking photographs, descend the mountain to the Mintos hut for full breakfast, descend further the mountain to Chogoria Bandas lodge for dinner and overnight. Lunch en-route.
Day 6: After breakfast, descend the mountain and connect with your transfer vehicle to Chogoria town for lunch. After lunch, drive to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.
5 Days – Mt. Kenya Climb, Naru-moru, - Sirimon
Day 1: Nairobi – Naro-Moru: Nairobi for Naro-moru town for lunch. After lunch transfer to youth hostel for the rest of the day & acclimatization.
Day 2: Naro-Moru – Met station. After breakfast, leave the youth hostel walk to the main gate. Start ascending the mountain the rain forest for 10 km to the met station for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Met station – Mackinders hut: after breakfast, continue ascending mackinders camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Mackinders hut – Shipton hut – Old Moses
Early in the morning, we climb to point Lenana 4895 m. On a clear day, we should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south and Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian ocean to the east. We ascend to Shipton camp for main breakfast and soon after, descend to Old Moses for the night meals.
Day 5: Old Moses-Nairobi
After breakfast, walk to the main gate, transfer to Nairobi via Nanyuki arriving in Nairobi early afternoon.
5 Days Mt. Kenya - Up Sirmon - Down Chogoria
Day 1: Nairobi / Nanyuki
Leave Nairobi by public means accompanied by our mountain guide arriving Nanyuki in time for lunch. Afternoon is spent in Nanyuki acclimatizing. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Nanyuki.
Day 2: Nanyuki – Old Moses Camp
After breakfast, drive to the Sirimon park gate and begin your 5 hrs hike to Old Moses camp 3300 m Above sea Level for meals and overnight at the hut (campsite).
Day 3: Old Moses Camp – Shipton Camp
After breakfast, walk from Old Moses camp via Mackinders valley to shipton Camp, 4200 m. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Shipton Point Lenana – Mintos Camp
Wake up very early in the morning around 0230 hrs ready to hike point Lenana, 4895 m. On a clear day, we should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south and Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian ocean to the east. We descend to Mintos – 4250 m, for main breakfast. Then proceed to the Road Head for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Road Head – Chogoria – Nairobi
After breakfast an early walk will take us to Chogoria for lunch and then head back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon having conquered Mt. Kenya.
6 Days – Chogoria Down Sirimon, Nairobi to Chogoria.
Day 1: leave Nairobi by public means accompanied by our mountain guide arriving Chogoria in time for lunch. Then do 10 km transfer. We do a trek of a 6 km to forest gate, 2800 m. Dinner and overnight in tents.
Day 2: Forest gate to Road Head
Early breakfast walk up to Road Head, 3200 m, where you will have lunch. Spend the afternoon climbing up to near gate and down to road head for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Road Head to Mintos
After breakfast, walk at easy pace to Mintos hut, 4250m, for dinner and overnight. Lunch will be served en-route to the camp.
Day 4: Point Lenana – Shipton Camp
Wake up early in the morning at around 0230 hrs ready to hike point Lenana. On a clear day, we should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south and Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian ocean to the east. Descend to Austrian hut for breakfast. Then proceed to Shipton Camp, 4200 m. Dinner and overnight at Camp.
Day 5: Shipton Hut to Old Moses
After breakfast walk leisurely down enjoying the beauty scenery of Mt. Kenya. Lunch is served en-route arriving Old Moses,3300 m, late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 6: Old Moses to Nairobi.
After breakfast, do a walk of 3 hrs to main gate. A further 1½ hrs to main road, where the transfer will be down to Nanyuki town in time for lunch. Then leave for Nairobi where the tour ends having conquered the second highest mountain in Africa.
6 Days – Mt Kenya - Buruget, Chogoria Route.
The Burguret route is the same route taken by Felix Enuzi and his compatriots when they escaped from a POW camp in 1943 and acclaimed “No Picnic in Mt. Kenya”. This is an easier route with a 99% Chance to reach point Lenana.

Day 1: Departure from Nairobi is at 9.00 am to Mountain Rock Hotel for lunch. An acclimatization walk will follow to the famous Mau Mau Caves and Burguret Water Fall will take 3 to 4 hrs. Dinner and overnight at climbers Camp – 2308 m.
Day 2: After breakfast, hike to Kampi ya Machegeni 3000m for dinner and overnight. 13 km hike 5 to 7 hrs. Lunch en-route.
Day 3: Hike to highlands Castle for dinner and overnight. 19 km hike; 4 – 6 hours hike, lunch en-route – 3750 m.
Day 4: Hike to two Turn Hut 4500 m – for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Attempt on Point Lenana at 0230 hrs. After the sunrise descend to Mintos Hut for a full breakfast. Visit the Gorges Valley, then descend to Bandas Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: After breakfast, descend the mountain to Chogoria and connect with the transfer vehicle to Nairobi. Arrive in the evening.
6 Days: Days Mt. Elgon
Day 1: Leave Nairobi through Rift Valley to Kitale 385 km. Dinner and overnight at budget hotel.
Day 2: After breakfast take a four wheel drive car to Kapkuro Campsite. Pitch your tents and in the afternoon take a walk to Kiptum Caves or Endebess bluff for a view in the area. Dinner and Overnight in the area.
Day 3: After breakfast, drive further to the Road Head 30 km and hike further for 4 km where you pitch your tents. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Attempt the Koitobass peak, the highest on the Kenyan side and descend to the camp – 4155 m.
Day 5: Descend further to the park gate to connect your transfer back to Kitale and then back to Nairobi.
